To make it more sellable , I would do several bolt patterns so you could use it with several different trans, ie T-56, tremic/old style 4 speed , lenco and other modern trans.....

Alot of folks reference 6 speeds in this thread... the TKO 500/600 are all 5 speeds. Only the T56 is a 6 speed and not only is it massive, it weighs about 125lbs dry!

I know this an extremely old thread, but the price of rb trannies has gone down quite a bit, I priced a brand new unit from nissan north america a couple of months ago and it was $1500 brand new, which is awesome. They are located in Smryna TN, they order it from japan and when it shows up you only pay shipping from TN to your door, alot cheaper and more reliable then any other option. Just a thought!

Can I get that hook up info from you on the details of who to contact to get one coming my way. I tried to Google Nissan North America, but did not see how to actually place a order.

Can you PM me how you did it? Thanks - joel

Hey joel,
Im working on finding my receipt from them and ill get you the number. Did it come up with a number for them, i cant remember the dudes name, but i ordered alot of rb parts from him. Great prices, just takes a little while, and there is no time length they can give you on some items. i waited for over a month for a throttle bracket, i got another part in a week. but the good news is, he can get anything and he has access to the japaneese parts screen, so hes awesome. ill keep looking and get back with you.

BUMP I'd love to get that information about your Nissan North America hook up too.

I've found TKO 500's (5spd 500lbs handling) for $2200, 600's (5spd 600ftlbs) for $2300, and a t56 magnum (450ftlbs supposedly) (6 speed) (adjustable shifter locations) for $2900 they are all supposedly underrated in their power handling capabilities. but ya you still need bellhousing and clutch after that. I'm gonna go with the TKO 500 prolly but after hearing all the prices laid down a rb bellhousing and that pathfinder or Z32 trans combo sounds just right (for my stock power. when I do my single turbo upgrade etc. I'll definitely be going for a tremec unit so please make the kit but think about T5's with rb20's too (CHEAP)

THIS WOULD HAVE BEEN REALITY IF PEOPLE WOULD HAVE SUPPORTED THE WHOLE PROJECT. NO ONE WANTED TO SPEND MONEY ON A GOOD TRANSMISSION. THERE ALOT OF DIVAS OUT THERE THAT THINK THEY CAN JUST THROW THINGS TOGETHER. BUT IF YOU WANNA PLAY YOU GOTTA PAY . I UNDERSTAND THERES PEOPLE OUT THERE THAT CANT AFFORD IT OR DONT NEED SUCH A ROBUST TRANNY BUT THINK ABOUT BUYING TRANNY AFTER TRANNY AND THEN TRYING TO FIND THE MIDDLE GUY TO GET YOUR TRANSMISSION PARTS. TRYING TO GET SOME PEOPLE INVOLVED LET ME KNOW IF YOU WANT IN. IAM GONNA PURCHASE A TRANNY FROM LIBERTY GEARS AND MAKE THIS THING HAPPEN WITH THE GRACE OF GOD

i honestly think you should look into the supra 6 speed trans mated up to the rb, that i would be interested in but the tremec is in my opinion not that bulletproof from the specs you posted.

ah, after searching thru all my paper work for the invoice i received from them, i didnt find it! but lucky i bought an ipod touch and synced it, and it had all the contacts from my old iphone.

Nissan north america 1(888)833-3225. i forget the options, but if you listen you should find what your looking for. something about to place an order blah blah blah. talk to whoever on the phone and say you need part numbers for rb parts and they will know exactly what you are talking about. its a guy and hes awesome. sorry it took me so long. joel you have helped in the past, i hope this works for you.

on the subject of the tremec trans, it would be built proof if you got the chevy t56 and had it built with viper internals, ive seen big power numbers with those, and they seem to hold up. just a thought!

There was a guy taking a Nissan auto bell housing and mod it to accept t-5 and Tremic trans. one problem is the shifter is 4-5 inches forward of the orginal hole....

WELL ITS BEEN A LONGE TIME SINCE MY LAST POST BUT NOW ITS TIME. IT WAS THOUGHT OF BACK IN FEB OF 2009 AND NOW IT IS REALITY.

I WILL POST PICS OF THE BUILD PROJECT AS I GET TO THE ACTUAL INSTALL WITHIN THE CAR. THIS IS THE R&D PHASE OF THE HOLE PROJECT SO BEAR WITH ME ON THE LENGTHINESS ON NEW POSTS.

SO HERE WE GO, THE BELLHOUSING IS ON A TREMEC TKO 600 / FORD BASED BUT CAN EXCEPT T5 TRANSMISSIONS. FOR THIS VENTURE, WE HAVE A FULLY BUILT TREMEC TKO
SPECS INCLUDE: CUSTOM SHIFTER BY MCLEOD RACING, CRYO TREATED GEARS, REM TREATED PARTS, CARBON FIBER SYNCHROS, FULLY PREPPED FROM PROMOTION TRANSMISSION

THIS SETUP WILL BE RUNNING A HYDRAULIC THROW OUT BEARING, STOCK SIZE FLYWHEEL AND STOCK SIZE PRESSURE PLATE . THE CLUTCH DISC IS THE SAME SIZE EXCEPT FOR THE SPLINE WHICH IS CHANGED TO ADAPT.

I WILL BE POSTING PICKS, AS I WILL BE GETTING STARTED SOME TIME LATE NEXT WEEK. SO UNTIL THEN YOU ALL HAVE WAITED THIS LONG SO I DONT THINK NO ONE WILL MIND.

This sounds very promising, my RB25 trans has about had it..... I just hope the shifter location is stock, driving an SN95 with a t5 or TK0600 makes you feel like your reaching through the dash to shift the damn car...
