Hi guys ! I am a current owner of a beautiful 2013 M37 give me a break care because I don’t know much about cars but I do know I love Nissans and eventually ended up with my M37 that’s all I’ve ever owned previously was Nissan. I’m sure you guys know how expensive the dealer is I tend to take my car every few years to them to do a full multi point inspection and then take the car to my mechanic. No major issues on my car, I think I replaced one MAF sensor and some coolant hose. Other than that I keep up on my oil changes, fluids, filters, tires stuff like that. Well my last oil change at infinity they did the multi point inspection and the only thing that they recommended to me was that I do a transmission fluid change, not flush but just a change. I’m hearing mixed reviews on this at 90 K I’ve never changed it. They are also recommending my throttle cleaned, brake fluid flush(that I know fluid isn’t red anymore) and a Power power steering flush. All and all at the dealer this will be about $650. Definitely don’t mind paying the money but just want to make sure the transmission change is necessary, pros and cons please! Thanks

Depends on the condition of the existing fluid. If it's clear (even if brown and/or burnt-smelling) then a change is advisable. If it's translucent or soupy with clutch material, then chances are the crud is the only thing holding the seals in the valve body. In that case, run it till it fails.

Well there’s no dipstick so there’s no actual way I can tell and as a single female I don’t think I even have the tools to take it apart and I don’t wanna try LOL. According to Infiniti they recommend every 30k and I’m at 90k. They said (again it’s the dealer so of course they are going to push) It’s better to get it done then to have some thing happened to my transmission and have to spend a lot to replace it

Crack the drain plug and a take a few drops for a sample. The trouble with soup is, if you change it, the internal seals will almost certainly start leaking and you may turn a functional tranny into a dead one. Best not to risk that, take a sample before authorizing the work.

Please do the sample yourself OP or have them do it in front of you, don't let them bring you a sample from the back room because you don't know where they got it from :).

One of the things I'm dreading with my move to FL by the end of the month. My dealer in NY (Lia Infiniti) knows I'm a car enthusiast and has been very good to work with on the service side...I'm going to have to rebuild that relationship down in Tampa with a new dealer.

But some dealers, not all, are extremely shady and could definitely pull something like this to try to make a buck.
