I have had this issue for the past 4 months now. I already posted on the Nissan Mechanic side of the Forum and they told me to take it to the dealership. Well I have been in and out of the dealership 3 times and I have yet to duplicate it on the spot. Can you all just give me an idea of what I am dealing with so I can have some ideas when I go back into the dealership?

-The transmission makes a clanking noise when I shift from 1st to 2nd (6mt).-Second, my clutch pedal will become mushy and get stuck for a bit and then go back to normal. I figured it was the warm weather/humidity but it did it yesterday when it was 68 degrees.

you should read FAQ before somebody flame on you.

that's normal for Z. it makes alot of transmission noise

because it's like bolt-something transmission.

idk about the mushy clutch but... if you really wanna get

rid of the clanking noise i heard you can get it lubricated

but i think all Z owners just live with that.

I appreciate the timely response, but I am not a noob and know when something is wrong. I understand the transmission in the Z is noisy but it should not be making a clanking noise when shifting gears. Loud whining noises coming from the transmission is normal for the Z, but not a clanking noise. In addition, the clutch should not get stuck unless their is a underlining condition causing the clutch to not function correctly.

Clutch pedal intermittently going to the floor and can be pumped back up. Sounds like your clutch master cylinder is failing. If it is not completely releasing the clutch when pressed, it can cause a girnding/clanking noise when shifting.

I have the same problem. My warranty is about to expire and I want to try to get the transmission swapped before it does

do you think its the transmission that is clunking. Im afraid its a misfire or something, but my guess is as good as yours. And if it is the transmission do you think its so bad as to have to replace it?

ok i know what you mean, if i still had the warranty i would do the same in ur shoes, just to stay safe. But thanks for letting me know its the transmission and a lot of u guys hear it. Like some1 said before, there is nothing better than finding out what you thought was wrong with your car isn't anything to worry about. Thanks a lot bro
