Trans slipping i35 2003

2003 I35 trans slipping periodically. I notice it happened when the temps in Dallas were over 110% and when I was in heavy traffic for a long time. When I shut the engine down for 2 mins and restart everything is ok. Anyone knows what would case this problem. It has occurred about 6 times over the last two months

Have you done a transmission flush? How many miles on the car? Check level and color of the transmission fluid. Must be pinkish red but if faded or brownish, must be replaced.
