transmission fluid question

looking to drain and fill my transmission for teh 1st time. do I need anything besides the fluid. any special procedure. or how to also what kind of fluid should I use 1996 i30 117k..your help is appreciated.

Nissan recommends using Nissan Matic "D" ATF, but Dextron III/Mercon ATF or equivalent may also be used.

Car: 1998 Nissan Maxima SE Black on Black 5-speed, and yes. I know my avatar is a Gen 5... lol

I am assuming this is for an Auto. If it is, Than yea, The above post is right. However if this is for a 5-speed you will need to use Gear oil.
