Good Afternoon,

I have a G37 Sedan Type S RWD nad I was wondering if the traction control is all brakes or if it also reduces engine power. I want to know how badly it is working my rear brakes when I am playing with it in the snow. Thank you.

The VDC system controls both throttle and braking. I'd turn it off for playing...

Thank you, I don't feel so guilty about testing its limits then.

I turn it off for sliding too. By playing, I mean trying to spin it out with the stability control on just to see if I could out smart, or in this case, out dumb it. It took a few tries but by pitching it in a about the most aggravated slide possible, the four individual brakes and traction control couldn't bring it back into line. For a system that allows a little bit of slip when on, it is incredibly effective. I couldn't imagine it ever not saving the car with even the most inexperienced driver.

FYI - I didn't test it at highway speeds, only at snowy parking lot speeds.

I"ve also tested it out in a snowy parking lot and it did do great!!! Had my foot to the floor and wheel turned hard and the car stayed in control!
But, when I took the VDC off :naughty: Now, that was fun!! :yesnod

Yeah, I was hoping for some snowy fun this year myself, but, we didn't get enough this year to stick on the roads.
