Does anyone know how to disable the TMPS light on the instument panel? I upgraded my rims and I know the system itself can't be disabled.

Do you have the sensors installed inside your new wheels? If not then no there is no way to turn the light off or disable it.

Hi, I just installed 4 new 18" Enkei FLC-01 rims with Hankook Ventus V12 Evo tires from DiscountTireDirect with a new TPMS in the tires, took the car for a spin to try out the new tires and the TMPS light turned on. I then checked the air pressure and had them at 34 PSI each but the light is still on even a few days later. The temperature here has been pretty warm so I'm not sure if either Discount Tire Direct forgot to put in the TPMS or if aftermarket rims screw up Nissan's TPMS system. Does anyone know how to reset the TMPS light or know the proper PSI for 18" tires? I didn't see anything in the owners manual. Thanks.

Hello Gforever, I believe you have to register the new sensors with the computer for the light to go off.

your problem is the air pressure is low. The sensors are set at 36. Bring up your air pressure just a tad, and the light will turn off.

Thanks man, I'll add some air to get them to 36 PSI and give it a try!

How do you register the new sensors? Is this something the dealer does? Thanks.

boo I was going to ask SEARS to take old TPMS sensors off my stock wheels and put them on my new aftermarket wheels. Should I do that still?

Or would it be safer to go to the stealership and have them install new TPMS sensors and wave the magic wand?

I think the Sears option would be better. You don't change tires twice a year like we do here so if they can fit into your new wheels with no issues then I would do that.

Got the 18" tires to be 36PSI each but the light is still on.... The sticker on the driver side says that it should be 33PSI for my stock 16" tires. Should I bring up the PSI a little more or just wait until my next oil change (still got over 1000 miles to go...) to have the dealer reset the TPMS?

You have to register the new TPMS sensors - the computer still has the old ones in its memory. You have to take it to the dealer to do that and they will then reset the light.

If your sensors are registered and you have the correct tire pressure on all tires, the light should go off. If not, it's possible you have one or more defective sensors or you can take it to the dealer and they should reset it for you if the sensors are OK - for FREE I hope!!

Called up DiscountTire Direct (the place where I got the wheel & tire package) and they say the air pressure should be set to 41PSI for the 18" tires. I'll give this another try.

Called the dealer (Clay Nissan) and they say it is 37PSI. If the light is on, it'll stay on..... cost $106 to reset.... WTF!!

Does anyone know where to get the datalink cable and how can I reset the light myself?
