you can always go with the stock rail and RX-7 injectors... 550cc primarys or 850cc secondary's, only rib is that you have to get two engines worth since there is only one pair of each on each engine.

not sure exactly what you are talking about...if you are running nitrous that is injected into the intake, more of the nitrous tends to be sucked into the #1 cylinder (usually, depends on make) and it will run lean....or on some engines (EJ20, I think, thats the WRX engine, right?) the fuel rail is designed poorly so that real big injectors will cause the last injector on the rail to run leaner than the rest, and that cyl will kerplop. least its possible.I think the 240 fuel rail's potential hasn't ever been maxed out though, so no worries there.

the rail is a 6an on the 240. This is the same size as the 300zx tt fuel rail. Since that fuel rail can support over 600 hp, i dont see a problem with the rail EVER being maxed out

You could adapt a KA24E top-feed rail to your application.
Yup, there's only twelve.....

I think it would be pretty easy to fab up a fuel rail, I'd think any machine shop could do it if you gave them the bore spaceings and the fittings you needed.

You could probably starve the fuel rail if you were running 100lb injectors, but I don't see anyone around here even close to that yet. In which case you have already switched to a topfeed anyway. So this post was basically a waste of your time for you to read.

If you get a top feed fuel rail intended for domestic top-feed injectors (like MSD's, etc.), you need to check and make sure that the injectors are the same physical size - that the injectors will fit in the rail and won't leak. I don't think they are.

Also, a SOHC rail won't work - the spacing is wrong and the injectors are smaller physically than MSDs.

Finally, the stock rail has supported 500whp...even at that level, it is more economical to build a new rail and get domestic injectors than to get injectors that'll fit the stock rail in that size. Even at the ~50lb injector level (with MSD 50lb/hr injectors +rail competing with drop-in 550cc/min injectors), it is a toss-up which is cheaper.

I thought a lot of the guys here were running MSD top feed low impedance...guess they aren't around.

Anyway 850's came stock as the secondary's in twin turbo RX-7's, and there are 2 per motor. So if you can find some guys on an RX-7 board that upgrade, you might be able to get theirs. Or you can order "remanufactured" ones for about 100-125 each. Which is fairly reasonable considering that aftermarket side feed high impedance (sr20) injectors will run around 400-500 bucks for 550cc's. I found a set for around 160 bucks from a guy that had parted out a few rotaries.

So that was 40 bucks each for 850's...not a bad deal.:-)

andrave: Just want to get this straight, you are using/gonna use RX7 850cc injectors with the DE fuel rail? Any mods necessary? Same impedances?

yeah I know guys that have used them on sr20's in UK with no problem, they ideally require these little "spacers" but the 850's pretty much bolt in. The 550's require sanding. the info is all online, here is a link to one page about it, you can find much more info if you search.
