So I took my A/C out on the dry lake near Barstow, CA today (cuddeback lake off the 395) to try and top it out and see what kind of response I could get pushing my car to its limits. As I got up to 80 MPH it started saying slip in the RPMs part of my dashboard and was almost trying to slow down the car. Does any one have any idea why this happened? I got a little frustrated going out there for nothing almost. On the way home I decided pinning my car and the governor kicked in at 127 MPH which I think is pretty decent and was impressed. Here are some pics of my dirty car, tell me what you think and the color is precision gray in case you couldnt tell.

WOW thats dirty!!! NICE!

As for the slip. did you push your TCS button to turn off the traction control? If your front tires start to slip it will lower the RPMs until they stop. I would try it agian with TCS off.

i've done 130 MPH with my car a few times with and without the traction control on and never had this issue..... only thing i can say is that you were probably not on the best surface (something slippery).....

Sucks about the slip problem you had going on. Next time get some All Terrains to slap on there jk

take it easy when washing it, dont want lots of scratches from basically washing your car in salt/sand.

Cool idea.

Judging by the amount of dust on your car, your TCS system may have been doing you a favour! It recognized how loose the surface was (based on the car's loss of traction) and prevented what might have been a major incident without TCS on.

I've never seen pics of a car with that much loose dust on it after a run at Bonneville.

If that was a salt lake, make sure you wash that thing from underneath as well as on top, or it's gonna look like a Canadian car in no time!

You have a manual, his is a CVT. The CVT limit is lower, but 127 is def a bit too low. Should be more like 135.

Maybe all that dust slowed him down...

In the midwest we don't beleave in dry lakes. We call that a grassless Prairie? A lake has water all the time. Imagine in Lake Michigan went dry...haha, Chicago would be SCREWED!
