Hey all, I'm way past due for a tire replacement. I've got a set of BFG Long Trail AT's right now and they've been good so far, but I'm wondering if there's anything better out there.

I've been living and going to school in Raleigh, NC where I do have to worry about rain, but not really snow. Mostly highway driving. The thing is, I'm co-oping/interning in the mountains of Western NC for the better part of a year. There I have to worry about rain and also snow/ice on gravel and twisty mountain roads. I was in WNC since January and the BFG's held up fine with only a couple scary incidents (nothing serious though) due to steeply inclined gravel roads. I will be going back again in a couple months and want to know if its worth switching from Highway All-Seasons to On/Off Road All terrains.

Your thoughts/experiences/comparisons/advice would be greatly appreciated.

A great all around tire is the BFG All Terrain T/A. Good treadware, excellent snow traction, and a more aggressive tread than your long trails

How do those perform on highway? I was actually leaning towards those, but was also looking at the Yokohama Geolander (H/T or A/T). Thanks DR.

They'll be a tick louder, but nothing like MTs. A buddy of mine with a Titan just got about 55k miles out of a set, and they weren't quite to the wear bars in the tread.
