Tint and Alarm

Got new tint and an alarm on my Versa last night. Being a base S model, it had no power locks, so that had to be added. The tint is by SolarGaurd-HP Quantum grade. The alarm is a Compustar model with all the basic options (starter kill, power lock trigger, trunk trigger, etc.) Got it all installed and out the door for $312. Seemed like a good deal, but time will tell. With a 5 year warranty on the tint and a year on the alarm (including labor) I couldn't refuse. Anyone else had experience with Compustar?

how does your kill switch work. i'm looking to get one.

The starter kill is part of the alarm installation. Basically they cut the signal and put the alarm in between. If you have a manual transmission it is best if they cut the ignition circuit for the starter kill, instead of the starter circuit. That way if the alarm is still armed during a break in the car cannot be push started. If it's on the starter circuit, it can be push started, even with the alarm armed and going off. Hope that answers your question.

I got the compustar in my car (had it in my last 2) and I think its the best out there. This one with everything installed was $800

I have compustar on my sti and hate it . It has remote start , turbo timer , alarm , 2way remote . The buttons are hell to push and make work . I like the viper alarms and will be putting one on my wifes car in a few weeks .

woah, they sold base model without the power packages now? that seem like a good deal. :P i am looking into getting tint soon.
