Hello everyone at nicoclub. I'm so glad I ran into this website is very useful but the thing is what I need help with I can't seem to find anything related to it. My situation is that I was going home and on the freeway my timing belt snapped. not knowing what the problem was I tried to start my car and then realized that my timing belt has snapped after thoroughly inspecting it. What I want to know is since my crankshaft pulley is out of time according to the other two pulleys is there a way I can adjust them properly without messing up the timing even though to my knowledge it's already messed up or can I move each pulley individually? And moving each one individually will that mess up my car? Thanks and I appreciate the help.

Chances are high you have valve damage since the VG is an interference engine(there is still a chance there is no internal damage)

Normally what happens after a belt breaks, the valves will all seat and not move, but the pistons will still move up and down if you crank it or you have it in gear and it is moving. So to answer your question, yes you can move everything separately and will not cause any damage AS LONG ARE YOU MOVE IT SLOWLY BY HAND. If stops and has some resistance, stop, it is hitting a piston. It will also make it easier to move if you remove all the spark plugs.
