Im having a hard time with the timing belt tensioner, I replaced the old one and installed a new one but as soon as lined up everything and the belt, I first adjusted the tensioner bolt so the belt would be tight then in a couple of days I noticed that the gap clearance was smaller and the bolt was loose from the tensioner, so then I adjusted the tensioner gap clearance to specs but then I noticed that the tensioner bolt was a little bit loose when I had previously rotated the the timing belt pully bolt, "Is this normal" what should I do Im afraid that the timing belt tensioner gap clearance will be small and the belt might have enough slack to skip timing on the road when driven first time and will cause the the pistons to interfere with the valves! Can someone help me has anyone had this problem, does anyone Know?

I assume you are talking about a VG30DE? the tensioner goes on with 2 bolts throught eh slots and one nut at the pivot, there is one tensor bolt that holds the tensioner compressed during instalation, wiht the nut and bolts in but loose you swain ght tensioner over, and tighten things up, the back the tensioner bolt out and the tensioner cousl take up any excess slack

this help, your post wan't exactly clear
