Hey i got a quick question. I was puttin on a new water pump and that went great. I put on a new timing belt also , but when i put it back on something just didnt look right. I dont know if its just me or somethin isnt right. I basically followed the fsm on how to intsall a new one. But i got some pics. To me the belt looks like its too close to the rear timing cover, and on the tensioner it looks like it pushed to far back. Can someone please help me with this, I dont want screw anything up. thanks

It shouldn't be too big of a deal unless it's actually making contact. It should center itself fairly quickly.

BTW, Has the motor already turned since you installed the timing belt when you took this picture? The reason I ask is because one of the marks on the timing belt is nowhere near it's supposed to be.

i have a similar problem

accept my belt is to about that distance towards the front cover not the rear.

I will most likely take the botton front cover off this weekend and chack out the big washers that go on either side of the timing belt to make sure that is all correct.

but does anyone have any other iseas or has seen this heppen before?

mine usually sits all funny to begin with but it always sorts itself out. unless it is actually touching, i wouldnt worry about it.
