Really? Do they not let you drive on the highways during test drives? That doesnt seem quite right. What would they do if you did drive the V onto the highway and go faster than 60?
I don't know where the OP is, but not being able to drive a dealer-provided test-drive vehicle onto a highway is VERY common in many countries, sans North America. For instance, if I were to test-drive a Tiida where my dealership is located (Japan), it would be a drive that can hardly exceed 60 km/h because there is no expressway/highway anywhere nearby. So I think I can understand OP's dilemma and where his/her question is coming from.
A JDM Tiida is stable at 120 km/h, but it is not like a sharp handling car, by a deliberate design I believe. The JDM Tiida, at least after 2005, received a softer supension than what is used today in the NA Versa due to the customer feedback in that market.
Nissan, like most other manufacturers, gives different flavors to different markets even though the base config and sheetmetal are the same. So to OP, I would say test drive a Tiida in your market, preferably at a dealership near a highway, so that the salesperson, if you are nice to him/her, may possibly let you take the Tiida onto a highway and test the handling. Good luck.
