TICKING SOUND!?

about a week ago my z (which is my daily) started making a ticking sound it is slow at idle and get faster as i accelerate sometimes it doesnt happen right when i start up the car but starts after ive been driving for a few minutes any previous experience with this? maybe belt tensioner bad exhaust manifold gasket?

cracked exhaust manifolds are common on the vg's, could also be a bad lifter, both generally are worse when cold

Pop the hood and see if you can hear what area of the day the sound is coming from.

cool figured it out put some octane booster in the gas tank and after driving for a few secs it was gone thanx for ur help!

yea it seems it was gettin some preignition from soot and combustion byproducts buikding up
