Does anyone know a easier way to clean the throttle body? I tried taking apart the intake air hose from the throttle body and getting to the throttle flap. But it is pain in the butt due to the fact that there is not much room between the throttle body and filter housing to get the hose out. My car is 01 Maxima with VQ30Thank you for whoever that replies!

I have the same engine, and it is a royal PITA to do. There is no easier way to clean it, but it's not that hard to remove and clean.

The problem i have is mainly the lack of room to pull the air hose apart from the throttle body itselt. Did you basically just force them apart or you move something else out of the way?

get a cold air intake and when you take off the old one is when you clean the throttle body.

Air hose? Do you mean the air intake piping? If so, just follow the piping, and remove what you need to. Getting a intake is a good idea, and will eliminate all the stock box crap that is in the way.

noah, you ever get that cattman intake? i wonder if the AEM dryflow can be used with it since it's in the fender. the AEM is (looks) like a much bigger one than the cattman filter. let me know

Nope, haven't been able to spend the $$$ on it yet. Saving for a another car, and a N2O kit for the maxi. The filter should fit just fine. That Cattman filter is pretty big.

ebay is the cheapestthis is the one i ordered:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors...ZWDVW

I can tell you how it is on tuesday when i receive it.Although most people reported fast shipping from this seller, I have been waiting almost 3 weeks and have had to email him a couple of times to make sure that it is on its way. I would pay the extra dollar and request a tracking # if I were to buy it again. BTW, some believe the oil from the K&N filter can evaporate and foul your MAF sensor. K&N denies this, and offers to pay for a new MAF if yours is bad shows traces of filter oil.
