hey what about the Saturn Vue XR? Have any of you looked at it?Just wondering. Looks good but gas mileage is lousy.

Sort of looks like a minivan to me.

I agree that the gas milage would suck.. If I wanted 20mpg, I'd buy a full size suv with a v8.

But, the performance numbers look pretty nice.. certainly that V6 blows away the 4 cyl Nissan is putting in the Rogue.

Perhaps someday Nissan will stuff a VQ in there and make 300hp.. How much would that rock in a Rogue!!

Still not sure about the fit and finish of Saturn either. But, overall.. a nice vehicle I think. Certainly better than Hyundai Santa Fe, Ford Escape, etc...

You are right about the gas mileage. I think Saturn messed up when they made the VUE too heavy. It is a heavy car. The Santa Fe gets better gas mileage. Sorry but I do like the Santa Fe except that I really want a practical, economical car with style and some pep.I think the VUE could have been a good car but there you go again. It is just like the EDGE. The EDGE looks good but it is super pricy with so so gas mileage. Oh well I cannot wait to test drive the Rogue. I think the Rogue is going to be my next car.

A bit too "domestic" to me...

Plenty of room for an intercooler tho.

So what do you think about the Honda CRV?

Honda has always been very strong in reliability. Along with that, the resale value also stays very high.

For those reasons, the CRV is a nice product.

But.. I don't like it. First off, the new looks are horrible. It's too small, too buzzy, and has always been a little quirky. The price point is a bit on the high side as well.

I think the new Rogue will be a very strong competitor! Should be larger, more powerful, just as economic, for less money.

Can't wait to drive one.

CRV requires (like all Hondas) higher RPM's to make any power. I HATE listening to a buzzyass little motor working way too hard.

It remains to be seen how the Rogue fares HP-wise, and of course Honda has had over a decade to perfect the CRV, so it may be a better-sorted car.

I despise the Honda's obvious economy-car rear suspension and the way you can see the LCA's from the rear.

The VUE has been pummelled in ever review I've read, so it's not even worth considering in my opinion.

VQ35 in the Rogue would make a lot of people VERY happy.

VQ in a Rogue would just be using the tried-and-true formula of a big engine in a smaller car. I would love it!!

VQ in the Rogue could certainly be done, people are swapping them into Sentras so why not a Rogue? That would be one heck of a crossover.
