So every morning I have around a 15-20 minute commute to work. I have to drive through some country backroads a bit to get to what you might consider the suburbs, and then weasel through those to get to the highway that takes me straight to where I work in Research Park.

To avoid traffic, I usually cut through an older road that takes me to a stop sign, where I have to turn right to merge into traffic. Just about everytime I get to that part in my drive, I have to jump out and gun it just to get into the flow of traffic (which is between 45mph and 65mph depending on how nuts the particular group of cars is).

I had the windows down and it was a nice 76 degrees this morning. I found a pocket to jump into and I tore out of the turn, seamlessly accelerating to 65-ish, and I just kinda sat back and took another sip of my red bull and smelled the morning air, and it reminded me of something.

Most of the time, it's imprinted upon us as Americans to push forward and upgrade to the next thing from what we have. we're trained to look forward to the next thing to achieve in life. The next house we're going to live in, the next job we're going to have, the next car we're going to buy etc etc...

I realized this morning that, even though it's fun to upgrade (whether it be cars, girlfriends, houses, car parts, etc) it's always nice to stop and smell the roses you currently hold in your hand.

Moral of the story - we own some sexy @$$ cars. Stock or modded, red or blue, leather or cloth. Fine cars. I'm glad to have mine.

WORD.

This thread needs to be upgraded. LOL

Just kidding - I know that feeling too - I love just looking at my car after I've waxed it and realizing what I accomplished to buy it - it's pretty sweet.

nice.

So, ESP... is that just a grille insert and a lip on the front of your car? Your setup looks better than the Stillen front on the black. I might have to shoot for something similar.

Nope, that's the full grille replacement from C-Mod. Mehdi had it first but I bought it from him...

I get a lot of haranguing from my fiancee too. I'll usually just keep pestering her about the things I want to do to the car until she finally relents (often begrudgingly) but when she eventually sees how good the mods look, she quickly changes her tune to "damn...that's nice!".

That looks really good . Do you still have the support bar in the middle? If so, you definetly can't see it with it being black.

Dude I feel ya on the GTR thing. Yesterday on my way home one blew by me on the highway. I almost went off the road staring at it. Pretty sure that'll be my next ride. hahaha and then I'll wake up.

I hear you; since I've had my coupe I've had less interest in getting back into a Z32 (my all time favorite car), although that doesn't mean I don't about brake my neck every time I see one, but anyways. XenonSE-R; from your discription it sounds like you're in the Monrovia area getting onto Research Park at Black Bottom Road, and I'm willing to bet you're going to work at ADTRAN, is my guess correct? I've been meaning to e-mail you and another A/C Nico member also from Huntsville user name dazink, but dazink not very active though, don't know if they come to Nico much. All three of us have 08 3.5 SE coupes; we need to meet some time.

Was it silver? A few weeks ago I was at Regal Nissan, and they had a silver one in the show room. That was the first one I'd seen in person, and I must say they look much better in person then in a picture.

BAHAHAHA Daan I laughed out loud at work reading that.

Yeah the Monrovia area but I jump onto Research off Plummer because Blake Bottom backs up wayyyyy too much and adds another 3-5 minutes onto my commute.

Yes I work close to ADTRAN. Pretty close guess, but that's as far as I'll indulge you. I'm not passing along that info over the net.

We need to get a Huntsville crew together!

I was amazed at how ridiculous they look in person compared to pictures. It doesn't even compare.

The silver one is still in Regal's showroom, but the one I saw was still silver. There are a few up in the mountains that a couple rich dudes have, and they're not out too much.

I had been viewing the A/C forum a lot before I got mine, and have seen too many great looking A/C's too count. As soon as I got it home I wanted to start the mods....wifey said nothing major, so I have settled for the tint and the console lights for now, cus she would freak if she came home and I had the front cap off and the headlights in her oven , just to get rid of the freakin amber eyelids.
