Greetings Z owners... I am considering selling my '98 Honda Prelude and buying an '86 z31 (naturally aspirated) for $1300 cash, fixing whatever and turbo'ing it. The engine was supposedly replaced 60k miles ago. I am wondering if I should do this. I like my Prelude but I now find myself wanting more than 4 cylinders and RWD. Will I enjoy the z31 more than my h22? And are there any things that I should be forewarned about with this model? I have to test drive it, where i will hopefully find any problems with the transmission or engine or suspension.

Please give any helpful feedback. Thanks.

Welcome to the board! And my .02- Keep the Prelude, its not a bad car and is far faster that that Z31 will be. If anything, post 10 useful posts, head to the classifieds, and see if anyone will trade you for a 240 of equivalent value.

Even if I turbo the z31 (at perhaps 15 psi) the prelude will be faster??

The Prelude won't be leaps and bounds faster than the NA. The turbo will be faster.

What do you need to be forewarned about on this car? Well, the rear suspension sucks. And there isn't much of an aftermarket.

But the engine is pretty good, some people push near 500hp with stock internals.
