So, like the title says, I'm thinking about trading the Z in, for either an older STi, not the new funny looking wagons. Either that, or the new Evo MR. I'm lso trying to get an MKIV Turbo Supra. I know it's all up to me, but I do appreciate everyones opinions here. Also, maybe someone'll mention something I didn't think of, y'know? Anyway, here's why:I'm tired of not being able to have more than one person in the car.AWD would be great, especially in the New England winters.Insurance is killing me!I love the styling of the older STi, and can't get over the new Evo styling!

I'm pretty up in the air right now, so any input would be awesome. Also, I don't know how I would go about getting that Supra. No dealers here have 'em, and I don't know if I'd be able to get enough for a down payment on the Supra if I sold it privately, as I owe like 15K on the Z. That and getting a loan on an ol car like that'll be a pain to try and get.

Sooooo, HELP!?!?!?

P.S the supdawg is basically my dream car, so any input on how to get one of them suckers would be freaking great!

G35X, AWD nissan VQ35, seats 4 wht more do you need?

the supra doesn't much solve your issues, it's got a tiny back seat and it's still rwd, it's also 15 years older then the z and going to be mroe prone to part failures and there is no warranty (unless you buy one of those rip off warranty's, in whihc case you are paying for it so it's like prepaid car service, I fail to see how they are a good deal ever)

the evo and sti, sorry both ugly, and niether known for thei long lives, how many 20 year old subies and mitsu's you seen lately?

Good point about the longevity of the two, but I personally like the body styling. Someone reminded me today of the G37s, anyone have any experience with it?

MKIV Supras are great. 2 of my friends owned them (one of them went through 2). Highly moddable, but expensive to mod. Very capable chassis. The friend that already owned 2 is considering another if he can get into it cheap enough. This is where I see the biggest problem. They are rather expensive for a relatively old car. The newest models are 10 years old and the asking prices haven't really changed much. The good thing about that is if that trend continues, that does make it a better investment. But for me, a 10 year old car is still a 10 year old car. I could buy a pretty nice new car or even a slightly used one for that kind of money.

Secondly, depending on who you can get financing through, they may not finance an older car like that. Last I checked, most banks cut off around 7 years due to the higher risk that an older car may have bigger mechanical problems. Credit unions may be a little more lax on this. I'd make sure you have access to a loan for such a car before committing to anything.

If your complaining about insurance on your z, a g37 is not going to help.
