The worst parking ticket day ever..

I need to vent.

I've accumulated over 2000$ CDN in parking tickets over.. 3 years. Everytime I park, I get hit with a ticket. I swear the parking authority waits by my car until the time is up (which I've paid) and tickets me ASAP. That being said, in the past month I've been hit with.. 1 fire route - 100$ ( I was moving a friend off campus in the designated "free parking zone" for the day, but the parking guy was too much of an idiot to realize that), 2x 30$ tickets for parking and arriving 10 minutes too late. 1x 30$ ticket on my MOTORCYCLE (which parks for free in the city of Toronto). And today.. the worst ticket of all.

I had finished eating sushi with my friends, no, not that kind of sushi you dirty people. Walked back to where I parked my bike and it was gone! I first thought it was stolen, almost had a heart attack. Started to call the parking authority to see if it was towed (As I did not see the TOW after 3:30 PM sign, I arrived at 3:39PM ) The parking people transferred me to the towing lot downtown which is controlled by a bunch of .......... Yeah. Anyways, so here is how the pricing goes.

150$ initial tow cost, then + 150$ PER HOUR the vehicle is in the lot. On top of that, I get hit with a 60$ PARKING IN A NO PARKING ZONE (IE after 3:30 PM)

So I had to grab a taxi (20$ from where I was to the lot) + 200$ at the lot + 60$ ticket. Total of 280$ cash that I had to spend today for these f***ing tickets. Now I have to work towards paying off my 190$ worth of other tickets i mentioned above.

Im sooooooooooo pissssssed.

P.S I barely work anymore as I have zippo time.

I don't know how it is in Toronto, but here in Calgary it's damn near impossible to get out of a parking ticket regardless of whether or not it was actually warranted. The "Calgary Parking Authority" are d-bags, the whole lot of 'em...

Maybe you could stop blaming everyone else and be a bit more responsible in making sure you get back to your car before anyone has a chance to give you a ticket? Just a thought.

maybe you should have read his post that clearly said THERE WAS NO SIGN THAT SAID NO PARKING, or maybe the part where he said " was moving a friend off campus in the designated "free parking zone" for the day"..... should probably read someones post clearly before you say something........

i just hate how a** holes always say things like "maybe you shouldn't speed" when people get speeding tickets or something like that. i doubt thats a response someone is looking for when that happens. its like telling someone they're parents were a** holes at there parents funeral, even if they were a** holes, your not trying to hear that at that time.

Sorry to hear about your troubles... Sell the coupe and get a pedal bike. It'll be a lot easier and guessing cheaper too

if ur parking in spots that have no sign or anything..then u shuldnt be getting a ticket...easy as that

Thats exactly what I need.

I'm saying that I PAY for my parking (say on the street till 5:30 PM) and arrive back to my car at 5:35 PM and get ticketed. Its happend so many times I'm going to start saving my tickets and keep a personal file to see how much I've spent on p tickets alone.

Maybe I was too harsh, but I don't think there is some magical force that makes the OP park in places and put himself in situations that he gets tickets. By the post it seemed like it was a frequent occurrence. Half the problems in the world right now are people not taking responsibility for their own actions and accepting the consequences. Whatever, maybe this guy just gets screwed over by the man alot.

In long beach, before i started paying for a spot ($210 a month) I realized that if I parked illegally, every day, that I would only get like 3 tickets every 2 weeks... The tickets are $25 each, and it was cheaper than a parking spot, so I did it for like 5 months lol...

That really sucks because I turned a stop sign ticket, illegal unsafe lane change, 5 tint tickets into a $160 fine. They guy turned it into an "illegal door opening" I don't exactly know what that is lol. I think it's when you are driving and you open the door haha.

Sorry to hear about this chow, and it seems a lot of the people that made ***hole statements didnt even read what chow said , plus that he said he was venting, and i know personally parking authority in toronto is the worst. In light of that back off if your just gonna try to bring someone else down without reading his original post.
