any ideas???i was told it may be a temperature sensor of some sort...either that or the knock sensor which i plan on replacing soon anyways but im not sure...also if anyone has the Gates part numbers for the water pump, power steering pump, and tensioner for the timing belt it would be greatly appreciated...since im doing the timing belt anyways i might as well do these as well...

on another not would a cooler thermostat(170 as opposed to 180)cause the J to overheat and lose performance in hotter temperatures...any ideas would be helpful....

lastly i priced a transmission from level ten and i was told 3260 for everything not including taking it out of your car and putting it back in...thoughts???

if i dont fix this temperature thing soon i might as well just have my ECU reflashed and attempt to have them correct it while its being flashed...im pulling my hair out trying to guess...will pull the codes tomorrow though

How bad is the performance? Does it actually run bad? Every car will lose hp in warmer weather vs. colder weather. Colder air= more dense. More air into your combustion chamber means you will make more power. Thats exactly how nitrous gives you more power, it cools the intake air allowing you to stuff more air per cubic inch into your cc.

When you place your foot on the brake, where do you hear the clicking? There is a shift release that is attached to the brake pedal. It will make a clicking sound when you press the brake while in park. It shouldn't do it when in drive though. Does the shifter move easily? can you move it out of park without pushing the brake?

as far as performance is concerned no matter how hard i press the gas the rpms climb very slowly until it hits around 2200-2500 and then it downshifts and jumps all the way up to 4000-5000rpms...also when im going over 55mph if i try to pass someone i am only able to do it when my foot is floored and then also it takes forever for me to get anywhere...ive never had this problem in any of my other J30s so i dont even know where to begin diagnosing it...hopefully i get all this figured out soon though because summers coming and it gets hot and humid as hell here in houston....

as far as the clicking i can actually feel it in the shifter when i press the brake...someone told me that maybe i got some wires crossed or something but i doubt that...the shifter does move freely however if i am in park i am unable to put it into drive without using the brake....its seems to be functioning normally except for that clicking noise...i know its weird

I you to live off beechbut and hwy. 6 in houston when it gets hot you have to watch it when you try to go faster you have to watch the temp and try a raidiator flush. I am on my 2nd J30 first one overb heated in the spring and engine destroyed so i sold it. And bought another one so on the highway especially watch it.
