I made the mistake of going into a Gamestop on the day after Xmas...wall to wall people. They had two lines going with like twenty people in each line it was insane.

Going to go get a 120GB HDD and a 512MB memory card today. I'm not going to give MS another $14 on something I'll only use once Gamestop has a policy that they don't sell them so I can't even trade it in), I'll just transfer over all my games saves and arcade games with the memory card and redownload all the DLC I have.

Edit: After looking through my HDD when I got home today I've decided to to get the transfer kit, but all I can seem to find are 3rd party ones and I'm not convinced that they would work, so if anyone has one let me know and I'll throw you an offer to buy it off of you.

what do you think of Halo Wars? It's one of my favorite games especially the Multiplayer.

I haven't tried Halo Wars yet, I'm working on Sid Mier's Civilization Revolution, the replayability of it is bananas. Not to mention the multiplayer aspect is a good way to kill a couple of hours with some friends.

I already ordered a transfer kit last night, should hopefully have it by the end of the week or middle of next week. Once I do the transfer I'll be happy to share it.

CivRev is fun, but playing it just makes me want to play the real thing. CivIV is better.

I still need to buy Halo Wars. It surprised me by managing to be interesting while still hugely simplifying the RTS experience. I'm a pretty big RTS gamer (always have been) and I am not intimidated by deep RTSs with lots of scary numbers and branching tech trees. But Halo Wars still had something. The base building mechanic is neat, and the commander/hero mechanic helps support the smaller scope of gameplay. Plus the cover system is well integrated, which adds a little extra strategy where there might otherwise have been none.

my Xbox is arriving on Monday! because I am so excited, I just ordered Batman Arkam Asylum Collectors edition for my 360. (59.99 @ amazon) I sure hope to get my Halo Green console back, or there's hell to pay. On another note, it seems that all of the COD MW2 Xbox bundles have sold out everywhere. (that sells them @399)

Hate to tell you but when you send your 360 out for repair 9 times out of 10 they just replace them with a new unit with new serial numbers and a new 3 year warranty. I'm surprised my third 360 is still alive and kicking, I've been logging mad hours on it for almost 2 years now.

.... the fuggers did take a whole month to get my console back. I would be happy with a new unit, but in this case I want my refurbished one back. I should have bought a second Xbox. The good thing if I don't get my Halo console back, this will cure me of my Special Edition addiction.

I heard I have been missing out on a bunch of free stuff on Live.

Wait what, there's been free stuff on Live? Damnit, I've been working mad hours the last 2 weeks so I haven't been able to get on there. Then again there's so much content on Live now I don't even know what's new anymore.

Since I hit level 40 on Champions I started playing Dragonage Origins again. I have only played a couple of hours since I got the game at launch so I've missed out.

http://www.amazon.com/Halo-War...r=8-1 The collectors is going for 39.99 and the regular is 26.48 shipped

I really like ordering stuff at Amazon. On a side the 12 month card went up to $35

I was sad when I played Halo Wars the other day. I have been playing the game for months in hopes of becoming a General. The last time I played my score was at 1800000, in order for you to rank as General you had to have 2400000 points. I was sad that after one game this year I got the General rank.....it kinda takes away the fun for me. I like working for my achievements.

Halo Wars can be played in Coop mode which is pretty cool. RTS with a buddy against the AI.

In addition to including the standard retail version of Halo Wars , this Collector's Edition includes:

The Mythic Map Pack from Bungie with three new Halo 3 multiplayer maps: Assembly, Orbital, and Sandbox.Halo Wars: Genesis, a graphic novel by Phil Noto, Graeme Devine, and Eric Nylund that follows the Spirit of Fire and examines the very first UNSC military campaign against the CovenantAccess to the Covenant Honor Guard Wraith in-game vehicleSix Leader Cards representing Leaders' with access to elite skillsA Spirit of Fire Patch for identifying yourself as a real crew member

for me I bought the collectors for the steelbook case, the Halo 3 maps, and the graphic novel. Your in-game experience will be the same either way.

Ahhh, I see. I don't even have Halo 3 anymore so I won't bother with the CE. I'll just snag one at a brick-and-mortar store.

So I ordered a transfer kit for my 360 off of a 3rd party site and after about 14 days I finally got it, the cable is the legit Microsoft deal, complete with sn #, the disc while in an official 360 CD cover is a modded disc that only works on my PC, since I don't want that I called Xbox tech support, and after a frustrating 45 minutes of me explaining my situation with a complete retard on the other end I finally caved and ordered an official 360 transfer kit from Xbox. All I needed was a legit copy of the disc and instead of just providing me with a copy of the disc I had to fork out yet another $14.00 for a full transfer kit. To top it off, the transaction number the dumbass gave me is to send my 360 in for repair, so now i can't track when to expect my transfer kit.

So long story short:

-Ordered what I thought was a legit transfer kit from a private party -kit came with a disc that won't work in my 360-fought with Tech Support over them just sending me a disc -wound up giving Xbox my money anyway for a transfer kit-tracking number Tech Support gave me is for me to send my 360 in for repair-In the end will have 2 transfer kits but only one official disc and one disc to transfer to your PC

Which model did you get?

Make sure you are turning off all of the post-processing garbage like 240Hz and all that stuff and putting the TV on game mode...the Sammy LED's are pretty bad about input lag...you don't want to have an additonal 100ms delay on your already ping'ed up MW2 game...

So I'm on a huge Zombie kick right now, so I went out and finally picked up Dead Rising. In the scheme of zombie killing it's pretty good, considering it's "old" but as far as the story goes, it sucks. I hate that everything is timed. It would have made a MUCH better game if it was a free-flow sandbox style game with no timers. I can understand why they put the whole time thing in but it's really annoying and a bit over done.

Samsung 6000 series, there is a game setting that turns off the 120 processing and optimizes the response rate for games....thanks

....my Zombie desires died with Resident Evil 5

Lego Harry Potter years 1-4 coming soon, I've heard nothing but good things for the Lego series so this one should be just as good.

Oh and they are making another Kane & Lynch game, hope it's better than the first one.

Sadly, it's quite the opposite, actually. Only Lego Star Wars (and particularly Lego Star wars II and the Complete Saga) were good (and they were a lot better than just good).
Lego Indiana Jones and Lego Batman were pretty bad. For one thing, the L:SW engine simply doesn't translate well to melee-focused combat (shouldn't be an issue for Lego: Harry Potter). But the other problem was that Lego Indy and Lego Batman simply didn't demonstrate the same level of polish that Lego Star Wars did. Puzzles were boring or downright bad, level design was meh, characters and abilities were uninteresting.
And another reason Lego: Star Wars was so great from a humor perspective was that it played on a movie series everyone knows by heart. So the subtle jokes and little things were particularly enjoyable. In Batman and Indy, that same case simply didn't hold true...and even if it had held true, the humor didn't live up to it anyway. The games just weren't on the same level as Lego: Star Wars II.

Supposedly the Harry Potter games will be more open in nature, allowing for free exploration of the school and supporting more depth to the gameplay, so it might be a step back in the right direction. The setting seems like it's more in tune with what the Lego engine does best, and it also seems like there's better potential for the series' goofy humor than in Batman or Indy.

playing Diablo 2 again.

I did not know you can play in single player with 8 players worth of enemies......fun

hit enter during the game and type "/players X" change X to the number of players you want the game to think you have. this equates to more gold, exp, and more chances of getting magical items

....God of War 3 why are you only running in 720P? This game SHOULD have been in full 1080P since the PS3 is the most powerful gaming system right? I am just happy I was able to pickup a copy for $50, I got the Ultimate edition brand new :gapteeth: It's actually the corniest special edition I have ever bought. It was basically the Pandoras box which was made out of plastic and just the game. Everything else is just a DLC download. I feel bad for the people who bought this set for $100

Yeah, it's disappointing that one of PS3's flagship titles doesn't run at true full HD, when there are plenty of "lesser" titles that do.

I've ranted about collectors/limited/stupid editions of games many times, and the GoW collector pack only reaffirms my hatred. Collectors' editions are retailer marketing gimmicks and nothing more.
