IDK if i really meet the standards. but....

Name: Nik DavisMotor: RB20Chassis: S14Approx. Spring of 06...The shop that installed it for me (stupidest idea I had but thats another story) messed up my wiring. Ended up being the wiring to the alternator. Pulled the harness and said ah screw it lets build the motor. I'm a student, so its been an on and off project when I got money. like to say thanks to Jesse (Kansei240SX) he's helped me alot with it! It's really close to being completely finished. I know the wiring looks pretty bad, but that'll be taken care of in the end

let me get something straight, you cant join this association if your motor turned over before? cause I got an rb25 for like 2-3 years now and I only heard it twice. It's been like almost 3 years actually...

Well I'll just fill you guys in anyways

Name: Scott "SStrunks" ToMotor: RB25DETChassis: S14Approx. Date: Serious so long ago I don't even know...11/05 I think was when I purchased the clip.

Shes sitting in a pretty bare chassis, after I got my wiring conversion I wired her up and heard her roar twice, but with the lack of a fuel pump it didn't go on for long. After I got a fuel pump tried again to my surprise the ECU is messed up, looks fried?!. She hasn't been running since, due to school, lack of fund and other complications from life...

you get to join when either it doesn't run from the start, OR it was running now stopped and hasn't ran in a good deal of time.....

I guess we could come up with a number of months before your allowed to join?

3 sounds like a fair number...

I don't think any RB is worth 3 years of waiting!! I think I would have already sold out and started another project. But im impatient. If it doesn't happen I make it happen somehow.

hehe, guess im really patient but seriously I do feel it happening, my RB will run, I don't wanna sound like a nutjob wierdo but I've had many dreams of it actually working, and my dreams become deja vu's 50% of the time.

Hello guys....

New member of the NRRB

Name: JPMotor: RB20DETChassis: Zenki S14Approximate date: 01-06-2008

It's been a long and bumpy road for me...

Long story short, NEVER buy a swap in parts, ALWAYS buy the whole package in the first place and if possible, get a front clip.

Now the engine is sitting in my S14 and i'm hoping to turn it by the next weeks.

I bought the car in Mid May 07. Got the car for pretty cheap, guy i got it from had motor and cross member dropped in i completed wiring and all other things to complete swap. Drove the car for several months and had no problems, Aug rolled around and she jumped time. I listend to every body else and waisted about 2 grand playing the guessing game, then went back to what i suspected from the start wich was bent valves, pulled her apart and sure enough thats what it was. I plan on having her up and running by early next month thanks to Coolwhip AKA Ricky at Raw Brokerage for giving me a chance to get a Long block. Ill have the money by thursday and email u then Ricky.

Name: DaveMotor: RB20DETChassis: S13The fun began July 2008

I traded a turbo civic hatch I had built up for it. Car had died on the last 2 owners due to a previous owner mucking with wiring harness. So I figured I'd take it on as a new project.Pulled it in a few weeks ago to pull the car 100% apart and toss the shell. Picked up a new shell for it this summer that is a southern/rust free car.

Left is the donor... right is the build at some point. You can see the snow starting....

Demolition in process.

Hoping to have the old shell cut up and gone asap... but damn its COLD up here in Chicago.

Just picked up a turbo that should support 400-500hp... so I can try to play in the 400whp club.

Oh and probably worth mentioning... trying to keep it on super tight budget... and make it into a GRM challenge car. (Grassroots Motorsports Challenge 2009)

Date in which you received notice of your Non Running RB: can't even remember i've had so many And a brief description in which places you in the NRRBA:Well i think i'll take a lifetime membership,i have 5 RB20's:in which 3 dont run,one has holed out pistons, two are just long blocks and one of those long blocks need rebuilding. The two i have that do run well both crapped the turbo's.One motor had a RB25 turbo(made 258whp stock tune on 14lbs) on it and it tossed the blades out the exhaust. The other motor had a 57trim stage 2 (357whp at 20lbs) on it and it created so much shaft play that the turbo would lock up As for my RB25 in my S14 it runs ok

Well...........i was driving down the road one day and hit a bump in the road and everything shut off(i swear, i was doing 3000rpm in 4th cruising out of boost)....i rolled into a gastation and tried to start it and it sounded like it had no compression.....took it home via tow truck...compression tested...20psi on 1,2,3,4 and 30psi on 5,6 EXPLAIN THAT ONE.........so now the motor is at Billet Designs in Florida getting built. who knows wen it will be back on the road

I suppose I can post in here at this point.

Chassis: '91 S13

Engine: RB20DETweaksauce edition. lol

Downtime: Approx. 1 month or so.

Expected returning date: Never (swap is for sale)

Pulled the head and sure enough HG was slightly blown. Swap is for sale for 2200, once the new HG is installed with ARP headstuds. Or save me the hassle and get the head and block seperatly right now for 1600 shipped. (yes blatant advertising.)
