OK, apparently I'm behind the times and missed it when Project Car magazine had an article on an M30 with an RB25DET. If I'd seen that on the newstand I would have been on it like stink on crap. But, the magazine's web site is pitiful and doesn't have an archive like Sport Compact Car.

I found the car's specs where the guy was trying to sell it (on a forum) and the big deterrent to me is that he had to get a crossmember from an R31 Skyline.

I've seen where some guys have mad skilz and can make their own custom crossmember out of tube steel. I have a feeling the people reading this thread are looking for something less difficult...I know I am.

I have that problem intermittently with my Datsun 210. I turn on the switch and the headlights come one right away, and the instruments not so much. They may come on by themselves after several minutes of driving, but usually I keep flipping the switch back and forth until they come on.

I've heard that these things happen when a manufacturer uses cheapo electrical components, and the contacts corrode. You have to work the switch until the contacts rub the corrosion off of each other.

I'd gladly buy new switches for that car...

My family has had similar problems with EVERY Nissan we've ever owned.

Hello fellow M30 owners.

I haven't been on NICO in a LONG time ... finally had to reset my password.

Good to be back - I actually have a new car in my collection, so I checked out this forum.
I plan to look through all the other M30 threads...so I can learn and share.

Here is a pic of my new M30.

I plan to post more pics, maybe start a thread, or find a photo thread for the M30.

Is there any local M30 meet ups as well? I'm in SoCal

sorry if post in the wrong section.

Gorgeous M!

I love the choice of wheels.

There's a white M30 'Vert I see driving around near where I work sometimes. I keep hoping I'll end up at a light next to it so I can point the owner to NICO, but we're always going opposite directions.

Thanks MinisterofDOOM!
I was driving today, and I saw another hard top M30 today driving too. It was super clean, white as well, and had a NICO banner on the windshield. I was riding with someone else though, and they were going the opposite direction. I know I'll see it again though...
Anyone else know the member? It's white like mine, and has white wheels, that look like cobra wheels... spotted in San Fernando Valley.

So whats the best way to go to get more power out of these. I am picking up one next week and want to start getting information ready. I've read just about anything I could find on here but still not sure on what best choice for engine swap would be. i wanna swap the engine and to a 5spd.

HELP!!!! lol

I just bought a beautiful looking 1990 M30 coup. Down side is it needs a few things. Overall it was very well taken care of. Few rips in the seat (Which was expected from a 1900 car). However my struts need to be replaced and the dealer wants $750 for each. Is there a car with interchangeable struts for the 1990 M30? Or am I doomed to pay retail?

Your help would be greatly appreciated.

Marcus

I have to concur with comments made here. I bought my car in Jan. 1993 after my prior car had been stolen from a bank parking lot. This was a GREAT car, and it held up in an auto accident where I was hit by two cars doing 65 mph----- and the poor car was totaled.

It was a sports cars, but a little too small in the rear... but fine for me, my young son and a dog. My I30 that I replaced it with has not held up as well sad to say cause I love the car.... and while older only has 1/2 of the miles my M30 had when hit...
