well, dont want to say he told you so but he kinda did.

I just read through the entire build and my heart just sunk when I read the first word about a crash... almost brought a tear to my eye. A friend once told me to remember that you WILL total your first car.

My sympathy goes out to the father who put his hard earned money into this car and not to mention time.

wow...I thought this thread was buried. Cam is still having a blast in the S13 and we should be at Carlisle this May. I would love to help with another SR swap but I think the S14 was way better to go. We'll see what happens Gord

hahahaa

to the op:

this is a tragedy to me... but, i feel like you loved the car more than he did... i can remember that my 240 was my life back in those days... i ditched friends and girlfriends for it, and i didn't even have my license...

so, while feeling bad for your son... i feel worse for you... if that makes sense...

In case you cant read, he was rearended and hit the person in front of him, there was no tree or fooling around involved.

Maybe your friend is an idiot, because not only myself & 99% of the people I know have NOT totalled our first cars. Or maybe your friend just doesnt know how to drive

I meant he said the car would be crashed... not blaming the kid.

And about the saying, i know not everyone "WILL" total their first car its just something to keep in mind while driving said first car so you don't crash it.

I know the first post made me seem really ignorant. Am i forgiven?

Cameron, just wondering, did you have to pay for anything on either of the two cars?

Your S14 was really clean. It looked great.

Your coupe does too now, you have good taste. Much better than most our age.

Keep it up and no more wrecks bro.

I just wanted to let you know, I know Exactly how you might of felt about the s14, i worked along time get my s14 sr20 running in my black s13, i had a very similar setup as you guys did, well exactly one week after getting the sr20 running, a drunk driver pulled out and hit me, i was also doing about 20mph when it happened, i also got 4k in insurance, and ended up buying my white s13, iv been rebuilding the motor ever since due to financial reasons. At any rate that 240z project sounds awesome, keep up the great work!

wow, my first car cost 300 bucks, was a honda civic dx with a blownhead gasket. fixed it with my dad and never looked back, cars became my world, but to see 10 grand or more go down from 20 miles an hour is so depressing. moral of the story you got to learn to walk before you can run. now i own a 95 240, project with some real rust issues... but soon to be fixed . and an 02 eclipse gt. hope to see a new thread with the coupe.
