I just heard on the news. Paul Souder (MovingViolation240) passed away in a plane crash yesterday here in Central Florida. He wasn't flying, but he was a pilot, and actually was pretty excited about an upcoming job with either Delta or Continental.

Many of you old guys remember Paul, as he was the original CA18 moderator, and one of the first high HP CA owners here in the states (back in the day). He had since moved on to SR powered s14's and had just bought a Lexus SC300 (with a sick kit and rims).

Paul was undoubtedly my best car buddy, and a wonderful mentor with 240's and CA18's. We built my CA18 together in my garage. I installed his S14 SR with him at his place. He was like my older brother in the central florida 240 community. Always looked out for me. This is the first close friend I have lost to a tradgedy...

Here's the story in the local paper:

I don't even know what to say. A mutual friend just IM'd me the news about 5 minutes ago... Paul called me just Sunday asking if I wanted to go to a club lexus meet downtown (unfortunatly I had to work)

RIP Paul. I'm sure you're up among those clouds you loved so much bro.

Sean

DAMNIT!

As I've been saving up and preparing for my CA18 swap, I was going to talk to him about somethings on it as I know he had owned one before going to an SR20... Damnit...

He was one I felt I could talk to about cars and engines and would discuss things with a level head.

That is very saddening news.

I didn't know Paul very well, but he helped me out on numerous occasions .... dealing with my stupid newbie questions that I'm sure he'd heard hundreds of times before.

He was always very polite and extremely helpful. Thanks Paul.

RIP.

Sean/Guys,

This is very shocking news to me. Paul will truly be missed by myself and many others that had dealt with him in one way or another. As a fellow CA18 owner, he was one of the more knowledgeable individuals of our group and his knowledge has helped many a CA18 owner on this forum as well.

He had earned my respect and I'm pretty sure he'd earned the respect of most others that have crossed paths with him. I was always smiling at the sig with him being x-amount of miles above us and being inverted (Truly Daring). I guess he lost his earthly life doing something that set him free and in a sense, I believe that he is just that now "Free". So Paul my friend, wherever you are, you can really look down on us now and see that your dedication and contributions to people you don't even know have not gone in vain.

Thank you very much for being an enthusiast that have inspired many nissan car enthusiasts. You have motivated me to better than I need to be by setting the bar of knowledge of the CA series motors high, but not impossible to reach. I personally want you know that you will be truly missed and that is from the top and bottom of my sincere heart and mind.

Sincerely,

D'Angelo L. Eiland From me to you: You were once limited by the sky And you probably wondered why? An angel such as you, could not achieve all that you knew you could do. But now that you've paid your dues and done life's funnest things, our lord has embraced you and have given you your golden wings. And with these wings you are limited no more, you are free to do whatever from the heavens to shore.

Rest In Peace Paul
