Please help and advise:
I replaced the electric radiator fan and it only works when I disconnect the wiring from the coolant temperature sensor. One thought is to splice the wires and connect a switch to bypass the signal. My best desire is an understanding why the temp sensor wiring is not functioning properly. The sensor itself is newly replaced. I plan to do a cleaning of the female end of the wiring harnes and pull and clean the sensor and also it's male ends, but I feel the issue is elsewhere.
Also, does anyone know of any hazards to arise by permanently disconnecting the temp wire from the sensor? Right now, the upside is that my fan now runs and will cool the radiator.
All input is welcome!!

You need a separate circuit to control the fan. The CTS (2 wire) or temp sensor(one wire) was never meant to control a fan, draws too much amperage. The CTS is only a circuit that goes to the ECU to tell it how hot it is, temp sensor is only for the gauge.

You need something like this hooked through a relay in order to control an electric fan.

CTS tells the ECU how hot the engine is and in turn tells how much fuel, air, timing the engine needs.

Temp sensor just goes to the gauge to tell you how hot the engine is. Both need to be connected for the car efficiently and to be protected from overheating.
