OMG, never again! This was a B!t$h to do! Putting the strut back in was hell, and then unfortunately I was using a rechargeable impact gun, so it went into thermal protection for the battery after each spring compression and decompression forcing me to manually do it while it cools down for the next spring
...so unfortunately I did most of the job without the impact gun. Then I wasn't paying attention to that yellow mark and had problems mounting the strut...mainly because I simply didn't align the strut top mount properly. I only did the front because I want to see where it settles with the oem rear. To top my day off, it JUST started raining as I finished...just in time. God was watching out, he said, "boy you're having a hard enough time." Lol.
So anyone else feel like doing this I will say you MUST get a second set of hands, and you MUST use an impact gun (regardless of the brave souls who don't)
Now my questions,
1/ How do you torque the strut nut if the "strut bar" keeps spinning? The bolt seems secured on the strut, but it's not tight, if I use the gun, drill, or torque wrench it just keeps spinning. I can't loosen it by hand though.
2/ What is the issue with pointing the marked mounting bolt outward all the time. I understand that the strut top mount needs to be situated a specific way, but why does the marked bolt need to point out. I mounted one strut back without the specific yellow one pointing out and everything seems fine.
Now I have to get someone to replace the axle boot my boy ripped
.
