Thank you.

Also, I updated the write up with the alignment after the drop.

Nice write up sir,

Looks like a lot of work...I don't envy doing that in the driveway. That's a very creative way to put pressure on the upper control arm, that thing can be a pain. I know Hogans fought me the whole way.

The SS brake lines we used on your car were for a G I think. There was an eyelet installed on it that (with a little work) was able to hang the line in a similar way to the originally installed line. My overall goal was to make sure it would not contact anything and would not be pulled fully taught at any point throughout the steering wheels' travel.

Indeed a very nice write up. Just replaced my Eibachs with H-Techs. Miss the handling of the Eibachs but everything else I like better on the H-Techs.

On the Tacoma, the only way to get control arm down is with a piston jack. The M barely needs it. You could easily have a second set of hands pull down on the control arm, but I was by myself.

I was one of first people to do the BBK. So there really wasn't any choices for the SS line. You basically had to order everything for the G37s. I remember G-Spec was a Nico sponser and they had a sale going on G SS lines. $90 + $10 shipping. $100 for all four. Quite a deal.

I do wish I had gotten the calipers painted buy we installed them. But the silver is still sharp.

Great write up OP. Been lurking on this site since I purchased my '07 M35X a month ago trying to get some ideas for slight mods to add some character to my ride. Ideally, I would like my X to look like a classy sports sedan as I'll be driving to see clients in it.

I've settled on painting the roof glossy black and lowering the car as a start. Lowering only to eliminate the ridiculous front gap seen on the X's. Like other X-owners, I struggled between the Espelir M35X specific springs and these Tein H-Tech's. I'm almost sure I'll be going with these H-Techs given that they have a minimal drop but enough to level out the front without canning the rears.

Haven't seen any long term follow up/ issues posted with X owners on H-Techs. Is this because the H-Techs have caused all sorts of issues on the AWD and people aren't talking about it or because the X owners are so happy they have nothing to complain about?

Would love to hear a follow up, pros and cons, from any M35X owners on H-Techs!

Thanks and great forum!!!

Awesome DIY! Im thinking about going with STECH. I had them on my last car and I dont want a softer than stock ride as with the HTECH. (S is not for softer? lol)

Id like to read up more on what peoples experience is with each of these springs.

Hey Wassup Vasekvi,

I am running S. Techs, I changed the shock/struts (KYB) at the same time. No complaints, able to go over most speed bumps but I do scrape once a while but it's the engine splash cover.
I went with S Techs over H Techs for the more aggressive drop.

Hey thanks for the reply Wangtang. That's a nice drop. How's the ride compared to stock on your sport model? Is it bouncy at all? I don't mind extra firmness. Did you cut your bumpstops and if not or if so do you ever bottom out?

I have a non-sport mode so the ride improved, it's pretty firm, no bounce and handles corners well.
I did not cut the bump stop, I bought new ones from KYB as well as strut mounting kits and elbows.
See previous thread below with the part#

I just purchased H-techs for my 08 M35 sport and should have them installed in the next couple of weeks. I'll post pics and give you my feed back. I wanted to keep the car classy/ sporty and didnt want too much of an aggressive drop. I just wanted to get rid of the wheel gap! After all the reading from everyone here, the H-Techs sounded like they would fit me best!

Having the sports suppension already on my 08 m35 sport (all factory options i assume with the S), is it recommended to upgrade the shocks and struts after installing the H-techs?

Would anyone happen to know if the drop is the exact same on the X? Also the op pick of the drop, do you have anything in your trunk in the after pics?

You need 10 posts before you can use the PM function. It's a security feature to keep spammers from soliciting the members en mass.
