tapping noise from auto tensor of timing belt

I had to change the timing belt due to a knocking nosie coming from under the cover of the timing belt. After replacement of the belt . I started the engine and now i have a tapping noise coming from the auto temsor. If I adjust the belt tight the noise will disappear. But when I give the recommend gap of 4mm on the tensor the tapping will return.

can any one advise what I should now?

How about replacing the tensioner?
