Hello to all. I have not posted in a while. It just a rant I wanted to shared. So the other day I went to a car meet (has been about 2 years or so since I been to a car meet) it was supposed to be a chill meet but turned into a burnout and donut crap show a.k.a. takeover, so me and a couple of friends decided to gtfo before the police came, as I was making my way back to my friends shop a cop pulls me over and assumed that I participated in the "takeover" which of course I did not, threaten to tow my car but at the end he had no proof, plus I was very complying. Luckily for me a stupid kid decided to drift his mustang around the corner where I was stop, which the cop decided to give me a "warning" and went after the mustang. I feel like these takeovers are killing the car scene and making it harder on the true tuners to meet and show off their cars or am I turning into a grumpy old tuner lol. What are your opinions?

Yep, facts.

We keep our events on the downlow, make sure we have off-duty police presence, and make it clear that shenanigans won't be tolerated.

Yall haven't seen the crap going down in Broward and Miami-Dade counties. Savagelife_CC is one these clown groups, whose takeovers have actually taken innocent lives. Just come down to South Florida.

A few guys walking around with crowbars and zipties usually takes care of that.

I don't have the patience for twatwad kids acting stupid in the bank's car.

Good rant. I volunteered at a local weekly cruise night for many years. Burnouts and donut takeovers are not a new problem. Here in PA, it's usually worst in the early spring, when people dig out their fun cars for their first event eager to show off or test what they can get away with. Our cruises got popular quickly, so the local police visited regularly, and didn't mind doing it. Plus we always had volunteers at the exit to identify offenders, ready to swing the ol' banhammer as necessary. As Greg noted, If they know shenanigans won't be tolerated, they'll usually fall in line or go somewhere else. But if you come across an event that tolerates clown clubs or individuals doing stupid things, I'd look for different one to attend the next time.

We usually see it outside of the fairgrounds (at surrounding hotels) at Carlisle, although its been better the last few years.
A couple stern words from Andy (RepoMan) usually shuts it right down at our hotel. Nobody wants to mess with him.

I think Ocean City MD might say "hold my beer" with the problems they've had with "H20i". (Annual tuner riot...er cruise). It got very ugly there.

This has been an issue since the dawn of car meets. Probably before fuel injected cars even hit the roads. However I do think it has been worse since the mid 2000s. And law enforcement has also become tougher on these meets. Ive been a part of many where 100+ people can congregate peacefully and quietly and it takes just 1 idiot to ruin it for everyone. I've also experienced many times where no one did anything wrong or stupid and law enforcement still showed up to kick us out for "loitering".

Stern words and a glass 40oz bottle chucked at your s*** usually does the trick
