I have a 2000 Nissan Sentra SE 2.0L in pretty good shape. Recently, I noticed my odometer and AC lights being out at night. Someone flagged me down and said my taillights were out as well. Bought some fuses and replaced the broken one, the taillight fuse, which fixed all three problems. It stayed fine for a few weeks, then blew again. The time between the replacement of the fuse and it blowing dwindled, and it now blows as soon as I start the car. Any ideas? I would rather not take it the shop, and have several car savvy friends who could fix the problem once it is identified. The fuse is a 10.
Also, after taking my car to the Nissan dealership, my AC went out in a matter of two hours, which indicates (most likely) a hole somewhere. How could I test to find this hole? Nissan swears it isn't their fault and refuses to fix it, and since then, a hurricane wiped out the branch it was serviced at. Talk about karma. The car did have freon dumped into it, which lasted fine. That is, until the first freeze. When winter hit and the temperature dropped substantially, the freon leaked out overnight (probably in the same time frame as before, but I didn't notice for two days because of the need for the heater instead of the AC). After that, I haven't bothered to put more freon in it before fixing the problem.
Thank you very much for all of your suggestions, help, questions, &tc. It is MUCH appreciated!
