Seems an easy question that someone must have covered before. I've looked and I looked. Searched and searched again. Sorry if I missed it. Don't hate me if I suck.

It looks to me like the '06-'08 tail lights would be a simple swap into an '03-'05 G Coupe. Is it a simple plug and play or am I horribly deceived? The dealer and shop guy tell me they think it is a simple thing but they can't confirm their theories with experience. Anyone here know better?

Do you have a coupe or sedan? If it's coupe, it'll fit.

Isn't there an issue with the trunk opener? I'd have to look at the coupe but it seems like one is on the trunk lid, the other on one of the lights?

from what i understand, the 06+ has the trunk button, but the taillight itself fits, except you wouldnt be able to use the trunk button.

Thanks. Ya, it's a coupe. Guess I'll go find a set. Love the quad round LED lights.

I have had good luck with these guys. It sounds like you could add the trunk button if you want to, but will take some modification.

Those will do it. Wonder if an overlay is the only way to hide the button I won't use for the trunk? All I ever use is the key fob thingy. I'll have to find those after the lights. Don't believe the hole could be filled and look good by any plastic means I know of.

Coolness. Time to start shoppin!

Tanks again pfarmer.

Wonder what would happen if instead of filling the hole with plastic, etc. you actually use the hole for something like another light. That is you create a hole in the other side and then enlarge the stock hole and install a set of lights in both. Just a thought, haven't really looked into what this would look like but it seems like it would be do able if desired.
