My son reported to me last night that the tachometer gauge...has gone all the way past the 8.... no he didn't rev it..he says.... it was in the driveway or the garage....

anyway..is there a spring that possible broke behind the gauge?

It's an heckuva task to take off all that stuff..I would like to have a fighting chance going in....

looks like hell to have a broken tach on such a performance car...

I have never seen nor heard of this on the forum

It's just a zero to 5.0 voltmeter, buy a whole gauge cluster [from ebay/junkyard] [90-03 or 94-96] swap the odometer to the different cluster and replace. Or get fancy and change just the tach assembly.

However the tach is driven from ecu -----measure pin #7 with multimeter........1.5volt at idle 3volt at 2,000 rpm.

can you buy just the tach assembly? What breaks on it, wiring? it's hard to get a handle on something you can't see....

go figure....the tach is back...... so it likely means I will have one of the dreaded intermittent problems....
