Need some help. I have an 1991 S13 with the KA24DE. The original owner wired in an MSD coil and has cut and spliced more wires than I can count. The problem is that the tach does not work. He also had an AutoMeter monster tach wired in but that doesnt work either. The speedo also does not work but I can deal with that later. I have checked all the fuses and they are all good. I am at a loss as to what he has muffed up. I really need a tach to be able to set the timing and idle speed correctly. Any help on fixing either tach would be greatly appreciated.

Speed sensor on the transmission could be the issue for your speedometer not working. Not too sure about the tach, though I'm sure you could find some search results on here.

The monster tach is very simple. Make sure you have power, ground and signal. Signal is the green wire and goes to the negative on the coil. The stock tach you need signal from your ecu which is yellow /red wire. For more info on stock tack look at shouldahadav8's thread. Im covering all that over there.
