Hello!

So... when I pull tab inside cabin - I can see that cable is still attached and it moves, but... hood is not released.

Anybody has suggestions how to get to release hoods latch manually? tried to google, but either it dislikes me or was bad at asking...

Anyway - here is drawing from FSM:
t32-hood.release.cable.png
but what is "secondary latch"?!
Buddy of mine mentionted that "some cars" have like emergency release possibility for hood... but I couldn't find anything like that in fsm or owners manual...

or as a last resort (or may be simplest and fastest) - destroy front grill?

Any suggestions - very welcomed! :)
TIA!

Destroying the grille won't help, the latch is located on the opposite side of the radiator core support. Your only possible access is from underneath, on the driver's side of the catalytic converter. You may be able to trip it with a long hook or screwdriver.

just to be clear:
I need to go from underneath INTO lock? that secondary latch by itself is not enough - correct?

You're quite welcome. PS - The blue arrow is the secondary latch, it has it's own cable and will probably work fine once you trip the main latch. That's the red arrow, and I'm not sure if the business end is covered up by anything. Hopefully not.

Yes. The secondary only does anything once the main latch is released. It's strictly to keep the hood from flying up if it isn't fully latched.

I believe this is view from front towards back...
seems that microswitch is right in front of the cable (if we go in from below).

fun-fun-fun :D

The red arrow is the direction the latch rolls to lock the hood. The blue arrow is the cam and pawl which holds it. The yellow arrow is where you need to push to make it unlatch.

if I will be able to cut the spring with yellow arrow on it...
will it "unlock" the locking mechanism? (read - will I be able to disengage hood lock with secondary latch?)

because from underneath It seems that it is pretty hard to get to lock without removing big coolant hose (which would make the car unable to drive, which would not be nice this week :D
and even then... looks like cable which unlocks hood latch is pretty "hidden"...

If you don't have skinny arms then yes, you might need to clear the hose out of the way. Nobody said it would be easy. Stuck hood latches are a job every technician curses about.

Cutting the little spring (yellow arrow above) should allow you to move the release lever if you can get at the mechanism. Those springs are pretty flimsy, if you can access it then you can probably just grab it with a hook and stretch or butcher it.

Well, I should qualify that. One of the most fun times I ever had with an air tool was cutting a hole in the engine hood of a brand new Sentra that came out of the factory with an incorrectly-installed release cable. Things are different when it's warranty.

bought like 2' long L-shaped metal profile.
managed to get off that "yellow spring"... now I see bigger spring above, but I still need to find angle to attack that blue lever, because right now it is still locked :(
Image
or - hypotethically - need to get off that next spring... or it won't be enough without moving "blue" lever?

No, once that spring is off or stretched there's nothing holding the arm where the yellow arrow is. Push that arm opposite the direction of the spring and the hood should pop up to the secondary latch position.
