Synthetic oil or regular oil

As the post above said, the only fully synthetic Castrol is the 0w-30 imported from Germany. It is an excellent oil and regularly returns superior oil analysis results than does Mobil 1 or Pennzoil Platinum on http://www.bobistheoilguy.com. In fact it has its own forum. All of the other grades of Castrol are overpriced. BTW I use German Castrol in all my vehicles

Coincidentally there is a TEch Talk response in this month's BMW Car Club magazine that states emphatically that synthetic oil does not cause leaks. I do not have a scanner, but will have my secretary scan it so I can post this evening. Fred

Oh..does that mean I got ripped. I did buy Castrol Fully Synthetic oil in Canada. 5W30

I have a question still on the same topic but does it make a difference if you use conventional or synthetic in a manual 6 speed Versa transmission. I remember reading somewhere that it will run a lot smoother and changing gears as well is a lot smoother, is this true or not??

According to many web forums, it's true. But you have to get the right kind.

Your transmission oil is what impacts your shifting, not the engine oil. This thread has been about engine oil.
