I am considering overhauling my suspension step by step on my Q45a. Note so far I have replaced the strut accumulators with recharged units from Texasoil. The car has done 77,000 miles and I would appreciate some advice on the logical order of further overhaul aspects.

For example I thought the next stage should be upper links followed by sway bar bushings. it would be great to have a definitive list of items to do as a 1, 2, 3, 4, etc. My thought is to do things one at a time and then to monitor and report the degree of the improvement

Whatever you do, do it all at once.... Doing it all individually will drive you crazy!!!

I did T-rods, upper links, sway bar bushings, and some other bushings that I cant remember... Call up Joe and tell him you want all of the front suspension rubber, and he can hook you up with what you need....

The suspension is designed as a whole, not as individual parts... ALL of the parts need to be in spec to tell a good difference.... Trust me, I did everything at once and wouldnt do it any other way!!!! All I need now is a FSTB and some good tires and im set....

I read on the forum that the upper links is a very easy DIY job. What about the other two items?. Are there any special precautions or tools needed?

By the way this Forum rocks. Without it, I don't think I could contemplate running a Q45a

Hope your plenum job is going well

Once elevated on a lift and after wheels removed takes 5-15 minutes each depending on wrenches and air tool assist.........roughly the same as the tension rods.

Changed the left one yesterday to fix a cold squeek, now my right king pin bearings are shot again [wheel tire top/bottom moves in/out] after only 22,000 miles. Something else must be worn like the kingpin seat/kingpin to cause this fast wear.

It's always something every year [20k].Only 2 years [40k] to go to reach 300,000 miles.

This year: 4 shocks and boots, transmission mount, upper links and tension rods, fuel pump, all brake calipers & pads and 2 rotors, spark plugs, a battery, a speaker amp, headlights and all bulbs, misc...........close to $2400 in wholesale parts [30% discounted] alone.
