Yeah, I agree that it's much less imperative than it was in the mid-20th century, but I still believe we bear some responsibility. Actually, I'm more concerned that the next "frontier" (space) will be ignored for far too long... the next world war will be won (or lost) out there. We need to be at the forefront of protecting our interests THERE.

Couldn't agree more, boss. We've been slacking on it for like thirty years.

I'm not sure there will be a full-fledged world war at stake, but as more and more smaller states gain space capability, the civilized world cannot necessarily trust them to be responsible, and so we need to have things in place.
