Are the Godspeed catch cans filled with anything? I suggest steel wool if not.

No, I had my machinist add a draw tube and a larger plug on the bottom so I could seat the wool at the right level to act as a seperator membrane. He also added the push to connect fittings to the inlet/outlet tubes.

I shot him a message that i would need the second can modified, he was less than thrilled....hes a little grumpy over the holiday.

I've been playing around with the diagram, I think I can use (2)1 way valves and 2 three way tees on the VC side to allow it to flow both ways, and bypass the can when the manifold vacuum is working - this should keep the VC from re-drawing the blow by liquid into the VC.

You could always just go with a header mounted system. Easier for sure.

It would cost about the same too...Last time I checked summit kits were in the $40 range. It would still need the 1 way valve circuit to keep the low vacuum functionality off throttle.

Also if I knew up front that I would need to run 2 cans, I would have bought a fancy box like all the cool Honda kids like to run.

S2000 example

Generic VTA can
http://www.ebay.com/itm/BLACKWORKS-RACI ... 33&vxp=mtr

The only problem I see is that I def dont want to vent to atmosphere...I could prolly modify it to work, but I'm already halfway down the path im on. I guess I'll look into the header siphon tube for the WOT VC vent.

Some pics of the final mods to the manifold. I relocated the coolant return to the backside of the thermostat, there was an area on the backside of the waterneck that lets you tuck the connection behind everything. I just need to get an NPT plug for the old hole. I also mounted the MAP sensor, and tapped the hole for the PCV push to connect.

As an aside, it is way too cold to be working in an unheated garage.

All that time and money spent out there definitely warrants a propane or kerosine heater. When I used to do construction with my uncle...by construction I mean slave labor...he had a sweet kerosine heater.

Similar to this...

Only had to turn it on in short bursts. I just have one of those single head units that mounts on a grill style propane tank. Works pretty good for taking the edge off though.

The motor is currently in Foster's parent's garage, and he has a propane heater....I just need to get up the motivation to head over there and finish buttoning everything up.

Just make sure you have GOOD ventilation with those things. They will keep you warm in the middle of a field on a cold day if they are pointed at you. But in a closed environment can cause some serious carbon dioxide issues.

Yeah, they also don't exactly burn clean, so I wouldn't use them anywhere you're planning on painting. Propane is a lot better.

Not yet, but getting close...I think he takes his boards this summer. we spent most of the break hanging out/arguing about my set-up. He is 100% against breaking the motor in N/A, and kept throwing up lame what if scenarios to keep me form just installling stuff.

Getting pretty antsy to see some progress.

I love the "you don't need that" types. They pull everything off the intake and then have 1 thread a month about why their car doesn't idle.

I really wish I would have seen this post before i bought this damn POS godspeed manifold. I'm guessing they havent changed anything in their design since you purchased.... They sent me the same spacers for the fuel rail that are no where close to fitting. Im not looking forward to making mine work. Although they do include the Iac valve adapter kit that is simply a plate that the iac bolts to with some hose barb fittings. This thing is such garbage, I hope its worth the money and time I am going to have to spend to make it work. I had no idea about the "velocity tubes" either. Now ill have to break mine apart clean all the rtv off of it and install :( im not looking forward to all this

The way I look at it, every piece on this car has needed some sort of cutting, welding, grinding, buffing, drilling, milling, painting, machining, soldering, and general tinkering to get it to fit right....

by the time I got to the manifold, I was already in for a pound, so I made it work. Thats really where the payoff is, "I MADE this s*** work."

Its not going to give me any more power, but I can look at it when the hood is up, and I'll know how many hours went into making this project come together.

There is this, but also that the motor is SOO much easier to work on when you add an aftermarket intake manifold. Not only that, but the numerous ports on the stocker are a royal pita to plug and not blow off all the time. You can actually get to your heater hoses and whatnot, its amazing. I am in the process of building this.

And there is nothing wrong with the remote mount IACV. They work pretty well, you just need to find out a place to mount the damn thing.

I was going to DIY a manifold a long time ago. I was going to use a fire extinguisher as the surge tank. Would have worked pretty well imho.

Before I do anything like that these days I'll be going the V8 route. Having a V8 daily driver has spoiled me. Immediate torque is just...well fcuking awesome.

I was joking with my machinist about selling off all of my KA parts, and doing a VH or LS1 swap with the tranny kit I pieced together. I've never had anyone threaten my life with a socket wrench before.

He's almost as invested in this build as I am...also he already has a VH powered s14, and doesnt want to share - I think hes one of the only running examples in CT right now.

Oh well, at least I have some space to work now!!!!

Renting/trying to buy a house - got most of my stuff moved into the garage, still need to pick up the motor from Foster's

I feel like everyone in this thread (and Foster too, damnit) should be going to Carlisle.

...and I fly my pats flag in an area heavily dominated by saints fans. Everyone down here is more interested in freaking college ball though.

I would love to go to Carlisle, but

You guys are going to hate me...closing costs are a bit higher than anticipated and I need to seriously entertain liquidating parts of this build. Trying to put together the FS threads right now. I cant just do a blanket posting becasue NICO seperates out sub catagories.

Rest assured I am not selling the motor - but nearly everything else is up on the block...

I know. I'm trying to NOT sell the motor. I can pick up a shell on the cheap and build it nice and slow....especial with a proper garage.

All the overbuilt stuff is going to be up for grabs.
