so the car lauched forward while you were moving the gear shift? was this when you first started the car for the day? Was this a very quick stop into the parking space? This is what ive noticed in my 2 years with my G37:
When the G37 first starts up it'll run about 1000 RPMS to warm up the CATs i believe for emmission purposes, and when you shift into D it should drop the RPMS down to normal idle about 650 RPMs. Now if for some reason the gear engages early while you are dropping from 1000 RPM to 650rpm you will lauch forward...
I have noticed that if you come to a very quick stop and you are in auto (D), sometimes the transmission is late getting down to first gear. its late by like 1 second or so... so if you quickly pulled the car into a parking space and you went to put the car into park you could get a forward lauch of the car about a foot or so if you hit that 1 sec window...
i first experienced this when i did a quick stop and go at a stop sign, the transmission got confused and didnt know whether to down shift or keep 2nd gear. the result was a foward lauch of about a foot and then a noticable delay before it up shifted into second and the transmission was normal after that.
I further noticed that this mainly happened on cold mornings when the transmission had cold fluid. I took my car into the dealer after it happened the second time and they reprogramed my transmission to fix "aggressive engine braking". The reprogram has reduced the problem down to only happening if the car has cold transmission fluid with a quick stop and go. so im happy with that.
If you are sure you didnt press them both, then look into getting your transmission reprogramed, even if its just them writing the same software again. it was only a wall this time...
