You can try heating it with a torch. Or hit it with a hammer(don't damage the threads). Lastly, for stuck bolts, I tend to use a breaker bar or something to extend the wrench so I can get more leverage. Most impact wrenches are not as effective as a good breaker bar.

Get a good, hand-held grinder with a cutting wheel on it and chop it off. Cut it flush with the flange, you'll have to cut through the nut too, but it's easy as hell. Then pry the cat and pipe flanges apart.

If you are doing this for a cat-back.... those are studs not bolts. In that case, once you pry apart the cat and tail pipe, you'll have to cut off the remaining piece of the studs, flush with the flange. Then drill new holes.

Burn em . Get them hot enough that they start to glow red. Then have your socket ready and take the nut off. Becareful you do not burn anything you do not want to , and do no tough anything you have just heated.

i had the same problem... i was retarded and bought a dremel tool with a bunch of cutting wheel s and cut of the heads of the bolts flush, that took F O R E V E R ! and then i found out it was threaded so i was screwed...took it to a shop and he used an air-powered jack hammer-ish thing and pryed the exhuast piping from the cat, then he grinded the bolts really flush, heated it up cherry red with a torch, knocked out the bolts and rethreaded the bolt holes.

I just kept twisting till they broke... then hammered them till they came out.

I know you already got them out but Sears has a kit called "Easy Out / Bolt out" for likr $40. You use this in conjunction with drilling a hole into the stuck bolt/screw then use this tool, which is reverse threaded and has some serious bite, to remove the bolt/screw.

heating it with a torch always works for me. Torches have helped me many times when i replaced my rusted out lower control arm
