The RSB stiffens the rear of the car, resulting in much less body roll during cornering. Therefore the tires maintain a more optimum contact with the road. Also, stiffening the rear increases the front traction. This reduces the car's natural understeering characteristic and it becomes pretty close to being a neutral handler.IBCoupe wrote:What are the respective benefits to strut tower braces and rear sway bars?
The STB stiffens the front structure of the car by tying the strut towers together. This reduces flex in the chassis during cornering and over bad bumps and keeps the suspension oriented properly. In hard cornering, the car will feel more precise. A side benefit is that there is less fatigue in the structure although that would not be an issue for a very long time on a road car.
