Hello Everyone,I just installed Front STRUT BAR to my V, since then, I am hearing a creaking metal rubbing noise from my hood if I press the gas pedal on a stop and go traffic, expecially on slow speeds. This doesn't happen on reverse or if I am over 30 miles speed.

Has anyone heard this noise.

Did I do anything wrong with the installation? or is this normal?.

This is kind of annoying, feels like something is loose and hanging inside the hood

Appreciating your help

Thanks in Advance

first off, what bar do you have? did you space it correctly? did you torque it to the specs? did the bar require 0 pre-load?

do you use some plain washer to level the plate and replace the front two bolts with a longer one?

Thanks every one for your prompt response

DC strut bar, I spaced it correctly, Used washers for all the bolts and I replaced the bolts with longer ones.

I am not sure how to torque it though, I torqued it to the maximum, I can

I used a regular wrench

After my DC strut bar install, there was a vibration noise only with someone else in the car. Some of the rubber intake parts would vibrate on the bar. Used a quick tie to pull it back and solved the problem. Was hard to find with no contact sitting there with hood open.

Noise is gone now!

I just loosened the outer bolt on both sides and it worked.

I still need to test it with passengers inside the car though.

Any way, thanks for all the responses

Scar,

I noticed that too, and I initially thought, that was the problem, but the real problem is applying too much torque than required, as I loosened the bolts there was liitle bit of gap between the intake and the strut bar.

I didn't test my car with load.

I was under the impression that applying more torque to the bolt will hold the struts together.

I wonder if replacing the metal bolt with a rubber bolt will absorb some friction.

The box should have had the correct bolts/washers in it.......you don't want the bolts to be too long.
