well, sinceyour car is an 80 I'll assume it's stock and that means n/a, hp gains, well the stock intake is cold air, nut a cone fiter does increase filter area, I'd be suprised to see more than 5 hp gain
if you want to build a 280ZX fr power you have 2 choices, hich compression carbed motor, or a turbo swap, I am a turbo fan and it's cheaper to get mroe power btu there is somethign to be said for the sound of a well tuned L6
and wiht the 80 model trans, you cut it off and rethread it, if you convert to the 280zx turbo's T5 trans you cna use a mustang or camaro shifter, I don't recall which off hand
