So I am trying to install the stillen pulley on my 3.5, and the OEM pulley bolt wont come off!!! I have used an electric and air impact wrench with no luck, I actually broke one of my 19mm sockets =/

WTF Do I do to get this thing off!?!?

i could be wrong but i might have seen dangeris stick a screw driver into the slots to stop it from spinning.

Did you check out his tutorial?

I had the same problem installing my pulley. I took off the belt before removing the bolt and it wouldnt come off, after a while messing with it i installed the oem belt again then tried removing the bolt. It came rite off . I also was using a cordless impact gun. The whole process took about half hr to install. maybe this will help

Yeah not sure what problems you guys are running into but after I took off the belt, I was able to take off the bold with an impact wrench. No problems what so ever.

Charliejj's method will work just as well. Good luck guys

I haven't done mine yet because the weather hasn't been good enough.

But if you remove the starter motor you can jam the flywheel so it can't turn. A bar and an impact socket should then easily get the bolt off.

Honestly, I don't think you need to remove anything but the items I specified in my install thread. When I took off the service panel, a 19MM 6 point socket took that bolt right off. Maybe it was torque down a little more than usual from the factory.

Well, certainly worth trying before pulling off the starter! You had no problem retorquing the bolt after installation?

Geeze man, Not sure why you're having so much problems. the socket I use were Snap On so no problems there. Worst come to worst, bring it to a garage. Should only be 1/2 hour tops to do the job.

I guess I'm gonna bring the post back from the dead; did you ever manage to get your pulley on? I just got done trying and that freaking bolt would not come off. I had the same problem. Breaker bar, impact wrench, nothing would break that stupid bolt loose. I tried jamming it with a screwdriver to stop the pulley from turning as well but that didn't do a thing. I don't know what else to try.

Do not take out your stock belt when remove the bolt.

use an impact socket and a breaker bar. secure it against the frame or the ground and bump the engine over, problem solved, this method has been used by technicians for over 50 years. to tighten it on the other hand will be interesting, make sure you have a torque wrench.

Did anyone ever post a review for the pulley and what it does for the car?
