it means there not CARB legal (most states either dont care or go anal and follow California's CARB system). so they would be perfect for a daily driver but if a cop wants to be an a** hole and makes you open the hood and sees you dont have stock headers and doesnt see a CARB number, he'll send you to the ref. it cost $35 i think and if your headers dont have a CARB number, they can like revoke your registration or something and you wont be allowed to drive your car on the streets unless you put the stock headers back on.... which is why i would like CARB legal headers.... DC sports has all there headers 50 state legal and i thought most of Stillen's headers were 50 state legal, guess this is one of the few exceptions

they wanted to come out with it for the V6 for $600 but said it would cost too much to have it installed and thought many people wouldnt buy it.... SFR said they'll make some for the V6 for $1,000. idk if the SFR ones will be CARB legal. but $1,000 seems too expensive since Stillen was going to make them for almost half the price. if people really want them, i think the best thing would be to show stillen there is an interest for the V6 now...

I'll come ship it to you if you buy the headers, no guarantee when they will get there though. Might take a couple years

Can't wait until I have money, I can't keep up with everything that's coming out: Coilovers, Headers, Turbos etc

I have to say that this header (singular people, there's only one, the 2.5 doesn't have 'headers') is ugly. Can't they go the little extra step to have it polished or ceramic coated? Even the cheap ebay ones are.

if you look at the welds to the flange ... they are not finished.. this prolly isnt a pic of the finished product... just something that they had laying around for the website.

Yeah, I see what you are saying. Now that you mention it, the collector welds don't look so great either. Hopefully this is just a pic of a prototype.

Yes but Stillen does not just have one header or only one of us would be lucky enough to own it. They have headerS for our carS.

dont think we're ever going to see headers for the V6... our funky a** engine bay compartment makes installing these much, much more time consuming than for other setups...

also, SFR says that they could mak $600 headers, but they say that much of the power gains occurs in the type of collector used in the header.. that can vary, and the ones that produce that extra bit of HP cost a bit more... in any case... I would love to see a V6 with the following bolt ons

Headers, downpipes, Y-pipe, cat back.. iI wonder what kind of peak HP and torque numbers this would see... maybe 30 -40 at the wheels? in any case I doubt it would happen... that's be about $3000 (including header install labor) for only 30 whp... not a good investment IMO, but hey, perhas somebody's got money to burn like that...

Don't be a smartass. I understand grammar. I was referring to statements that are phrased such as the one below:

I really like the way that stillen sat on their hands with this until they were able to figure out how to keep the check engine light off...

IMO most places would just make something that fits, and as soon as they have it, rush it into production...

Kudos to the guys at Stillen for their development!
