so i was googling about droning cuz I think i got it, where there's that vibrating sound like resonating at certain frequencies. I get a lot between 1700 to 2500 RPM. If i hold the gas then it tends to quiet down but if i accelerate a little bit then it gets pretty excessive. I do love the power and the sound going from 0-60 but when driving local street sometimes I can't accelerate fast enough to get out of that RPM range and experience the droning effect. My girl hates it so I have to accelerate a bit slower when driving her around town. What are some of the things I can do to help? I don't want to switch back to stock, i like the response.

Some sources mentioned Dynomat and there's another one that suggested using a softer rubber hanger?

Usually a resonator will stop the droning.

First I would check all the clearences(make sure its clearing the body, ect) If the drone is around 2K that would suck because the CVT loves it there in city driving Good luck!

Its really that bad Johnny? It might need to break in a little bit.

I know it comes with a resonator but sometimes people replace the included one with a larger one or something that will quiet it down further.

i am really hoping it will lessen as it breaks in cuz i really love how it sound accelerating real fast but when i go a bit slower it's just plain annoying. I'll try to record a clip tonight when the streets aren't that noisy. You haven't received yours yet?

I'm sure it will get better. I can only imagine this system on the QR. The exhaust on my Spec-V when I had it was very loud. I ended up taking it off.

Mine shipped yesterday, it gets here next Monday. Coast to coast shipping

Gentlemen i'm curious as to why you decided to go with Stillen over other brands of exhaust ie Tanabe, nismo etc.

I know nismo isn't cheap, but is nissan approved parts worth it?

i listened to the clips on Youtube and Stillen sounded good. I guess there's a difference between revving it up and everyday driving. Nismo is just too expensive, Tanabe production is not out yet

AND the NIsmo sounds like a lawn mower to me!! When I heard the still it had the deep sound I was looking for and the nismo sounded a little bit more high pitched!

When I heard the Stillen Exhaust on Johnny's car. It seemed really quiet and more sound was coming from his engine. But I believe its because it wasn't broken in yet. I didn't think it would drone. The looks of the Stillen Exhaust is nice.

Good deal on the Stillen right now. I like the looks of the muffler tips better as opposed to the Nismo (I dont like the rounded edges). The Nismo's that I have heard are very raspy and not the sound I was going for. PLUS - COST! More money.

Seems like the deeper more pronounced exhuast is coming from the single muffler and dual tips. Stillen has a higher sound from 2 smaller mufflers. My Borla and Loops Tanabe are both set up with single muffler dual tips and sounded relativley similar.
